The soft-shell crabs are small and that ooooh-ahhhh fresh crab flavor is missing. I bought here because it seemed to be such a bargain. In this case you do get what you pay for.

Good food, POOR packaging and WORSE customer service

Have placed 2 orders with Sizzlefish … First order of fish 6 months ago came thawed with no dry ice …. Just tried again with a large order of softshell crabs … plenty of dry ice, but many of the vacuum packed crabs had no vacuum. They included a letter from Rob Mayo, president of Sizzlefish, stating “if your Sizzlefish order arrives with any quality problems (product thawed, damaged vacuum-packs or products, or quality of product) we will replace your order”. Obviously their packaging/delivery lacks a lot. So I emailed them to let them know what happened … on both occasions. I didn’t specifically ask for a replacement, wanted to see their level of integrity. Their their reply was as follows:

“First off I would like to personally apologize for not responding sooner. I’m so sorry to hear your dissatisfaction with Sizzlefish!

With your shipments to Texas, I happy to hear an effort was made with the dry ice amount. We know it hot there and are doing everything we can to make sure your package arrives completely frozen upon arrival. Unfortunately with FedEx, the boxes do get thrown and dropped with such an impact, it can break the seal of our products. I can assure you that when they leave our facility they are completely sealed. With that being said, I would like to offer you 15% off a future order hoping you will try us again. I have made a personal note In your account in regards to extra ice and to include extras in your next order.”

Sad they made no attempt to honor or at least offer exactly what their letter from the president said they would do. Instead it got blamed on Texas, the hot weather in February (really?), and FedEx dropping a huge Styrofoam box inside a cardboard box (the box was completely intact, no damage, dents, etc!!!)? And I know it’s a pet peeve of mine, but the grammar in the response made me think the response came from overseas – I though Sizzlefish was located in North Carolina?. Very disappointed. NOT a company to deal with.

Ordered several items for my parents at Christmas. They absolutely loved them. Crabcakes lobster and shrimp. Packaging was great and delivery time was fantastic. Will for Sure order again. Thankyou Sizzlefish

Love this company!

I’ve been a loyal Sizzle fish customer for about a year now and couldn’t be happier with them. The subscriptions are definitely the way to go to save a few bucks. Plus it makes things easy! Every time I start to run low, my delivery shows up at my door. Quality seafood, perfect portions (which keeps me from going overboard at meal time), and excellent service. They make it easy to eat healthy!
